The C&O Canal has a fascinating history. Adjacent to the Potomac River on the Maryland side. You will see a photo of the river, an aqueduct over 15 Mile Creek and the entrance to a 3118′ foot Paw Paw Tunnel through which the Canal passed through the base of a mountain to shorten the trip by 5 miles.

On St. Rt. 48 on the southern edge of Miami County in Ohio, is the water wheel farm. This old mill is running again – and it’s rather photogenic.

The Eldean Bridge is still in service allowing occasional and light vehicular traffic to cross the Great Miami River between Troy and Piqua, Ohio. This image is of the east end of the bridge with the sun setting beyond the bridge.
